Upgraded Gas Meter G4

Ekbatan Gas Control, affiliated with Oil Industry Investment Company (public joint-stock), describes its role in producing and exporting domestic gas safety, regulation and metering equipment in Iran and the Middle East. Its original product description records more than 30 years of regulator and gas-meter design and manufacturing experience and cooperation with the National Iranian Gas Company and provincial gas companies.

In response to the National Iranian Gas Company’s programme to renew natural-gas metering equipment and improve measurement accuracy, Ekbatan developed an upgraded diaphragm gas meter and obtained the corresponding National Iranian Gas Company approvals.

The original company description states that the upgraded meter conforms to the newer IGS-M-IN-101(4) standard and the materials and features specified for the upgraded-meter project. The company’s stated strategy is to meet customer requirements with competitive quality and pricing.

Production improvements documented for this meter include sonic-nozzle testing and investment in calibration capacity; an upgraded-meter test laboratory and a gas-operated endurance-test rig to simulate actual service conditions; and a new coating line intended to improve quality and service life.

Further measures include additional control gauges at critical workstations and suppliers; intermediate internal-leakage, resistance and mechanism-function tests before and after assembly; supplier training and improved component control; and tighter incoming inspection and quality-inspector training.

The description also records changes to components and POM material grades, assembly-process changes and increased automation, revised calibration with more sensitive Qmin testing and additional verification tests, routine running tests on all produced meters, and traceability of internal components and supplier parts.
